Eighth Annual Libertarian Cruise - Update # 5

Happy, Happy New Year!  Now that the Holidays
have passed, it is time to finalize our group for this
June's Baltic Cruise.  I have several folks who are
planning to join this group but need to find a partner
to share a stateroom before making their booking. If
you would like to be paired with another single,
please email me and I'll share email addresses among
those singles considering joining us.  We have always
had singles among our group every year and they have
enjoyed it as much (or more) than the couples.

If you are still considering joining us, this
month is the last time our group rates will be available.
This sailing is very full, so any unsold staterooms I
have reserved will be released to others (at much higher
rates) in a few weeks. To begin the process, just email
me and request a "booking form".  Then I'll make your
reservation.  Your deposit is fully refundable if
you have to cancel and do so before March 22, 2005.

Now enjoy this virtual cruise with another
"Day on the MS Westerdam".

DAY FOUR ON THE MS WESTERDAM

As we slept, the Westerdam cruised to St.
Petersburg, Russia.  We will stay in port here for
two days and there is plenty to see.  At 7 A.M. we
are at the pier.  Some will take a day long tour to
Moscow and the Kremlin.  I am planning a visit to
The Hermitage Museum at the Winter Palace today.

The Hermitage was created in 1764 by the
Czarina Catherine the Great.  The Museum boasts
353 rooms, filled with masterpieces by Raphael,
Titan, Giorgione, Michaelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci
and others.  It is within the Winter Palace, a work
of art itself.  Located on the banks of the River
Neva, it is the former residence of the mighty
Russian Czars.

Tomorrow I will tour Catherine's Palace!
This includes a brief driving tour through St.
Petersburg on our way to the town of Pushkin.  The
magnificent palace of Catherine the Great has been
restored over the past 40 years to it's original
splendor.  We will marvel at the Grand Hall, also
known as the Throne Room, and the beautiful "Amber
Room".

Others will spend part of the day at Peterhof,
site of the summer residence of Peter the Great.  It is
a sprawling complex of gilded fountains and parks rivaling
even Versailles.  After a motorcoach ride from the ship,
they'll see Peterhof's picturesque French Gardens, fountains,
waterfalls, staircases and stunning marble statues.

Tonight's dinner conversation will be packed with
tales of adventure and awe.  Tomorrow will be a chance to
see anything missed during our first day in Russia.  I'm
so glad to have you with us!

Till next time,

Ken
